Al-Ozairi Chalet

Al-Ozairi Chalet is a family retreat overlooking the serene beach of Khiran, Kuwait. The longitudinal shape of the plot presented a challenge in configuring as much as possible of the chalet’s 13 suites to be oriented towards the sea and enjoy its open view. Our design team at Nest used the land’s proportions to their advantage, creating a diverse experience of linear movement through the chalet, passing through double height atriums with skylights, a central courtyard surrounded by living spaces, and ending with the climax of a panoramic glass facade. The building’s exterior is equally exciting, formed by brutalist stone-cladded masses that form enclaves of shaded terraces and an extruding panoramic open terrace.
